Frequently Asked Questions
New to acupuncture or unsure what to expect?
You’re not alone — many clients have similar questions before their first session. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. If you need further clarity or would like to speak directly, you’re always welcome to get in touch.
- What happens during my first appointment?
Your first session includes a full consultation, where we’ll talk through your health history, current concerns, and overall goals. I’ll explain your treatment plan and answer any questions before we begin. The acupuncture itself is gentle and calming — many people even fall asleep.
- Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people are surprised by how relaxing it feels. The needles are extremely fine — about the width of a hair — and often you won’t feel them at all. You may feel a warm, tingling, or heavy sensation, which is a good sign your body is responding.
- How many sessions will I need?
That depends on what you’re coming in for. Some people notice changes after just one or two treatments, while others benefit from a longer course. I’ll give you a clear, personalised recommendation after our first session together.
- Is acupuncture safe?
Yes — when performed by a qualified professional, acupuncture is very safe. I’m fully trained and insured, and I follow strict hygiene and safety standards in every treatment. All needles are sterile, only used once and disposed of immediately after use.
- What can acupuncture help with?
Acupuncture can support a wide range of issues — from stress, anxiety and poor sleep to pain relief, hormonal health, digestive issues, fertility, and more. It’s also a wonderful tool for maintaining general well-being. In acupuncture we are addressing the root-cause of any symptoms you may be experiencing by rebalancing the body from the inside-out.
- Do you offer facial acupuncture?
Yes — facial acupuncture is a natural, non-invasive way to support healthy, radiant skin. It can help improve tone, reduce fine lines and puffiness, and give a refreshed, glowing appearance — all while supporting your overall health.
- What if I’m nervous or unsure?
That’s completely okay. Many clients feel that way at first. I’ll take time to explain everything, go at your pace, and make sure you feel comfortable and supported throughout your session. I use as few needles as possible to create the maximum benefit.
Acupuncture is both a science and an art — and every treatment is tailored to you. By carefully selecting the most appropriate points for your body and your story, I create space for real, lasting healing. It’s a deeply thoughtful and personalised approach — and one I feel truly honoured to offer.
